Troublesome English word pairs -- principal and principle?

Is the principal your pal?
He or she should be.
Then you might be able to remember the difference.
Principal, with the "al" ending is the person who is in charge of your school. It is a noun or adjective referring to the highest ranking person in charge.  -- In school, he or she better be your pal!
Principle is a noun that refers to ethical, moral standards for which one believes, professes and lives.
My principal is a woman of high moral principles.
