When speaking or writing English the subject must agree with the verb.
Singular nouns require singular verbs.
Plural nouns require plural verbs.
A very general rule of thumb to follow: When the subject ends in "s" the verb will no; but when the subject DOES NOT end in "s" the verb will.
EXAMPLE: The man plays video games all night.
Subject: "man" (singular) Verb: "plays" (singular) I play; you play; he(man), she, it plays
EXAMPLE: The men play video games all night.
Subject: "men" (plural) Verb "play" (plural) We play, you play, they play
